This artwork explores the ideas behind two different Malay proverbs, Bagaikan Kacang Lupakan Kuli (like a peanut forgetting its shell, and Bagai Lembu Dicucuk Hidung (like a cow being pierced at the nose). Based on both proverbs, the work reflects on how some millennials are forgetting their cultural roots and traditions. As social media continues to have a great influence on our worldviews, ‘In Between’ portrays how we often look at the things from the outside, but not the inside and in between.
