Iqi Qoror (b.1984) is an artist who lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Iqi holds a Master's Degree in Fine Art from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts. As an artist, Iqi has had ten solo exhibitions in various cities around the world, including Yogyakarta, Singapore, London, and Los Angeles. Iqi is also active in taking part in group exhibitions and has been to several art fairs around the world. These fairs include Art Stage Singapore, Art Jakarta, Art 021 Shanghai, Moniker Art London, and Art Palm Springs in California.
Since 2022, Iqi has been starting to explore new bodywork and themes. He believes that everything can be measured, therefore a feeling can eventually be manipulated. Then Iqi tried experimenting with bright colors, but still wanted to create a gloomy atmosphere and feeling in his work, "because it would be very easy to make a gloomy work with a monochromatic visual display".
Right now, Iqi is trying to understand simulacra. This is a concept that explains the symbols, signs, and. images that appear in reality without a clear reference to its truth. Iqi tries to realize a reality that exists in his mind and tries to create intersections and comparisons.
