传记
Quan Lim (b. 1996) is a Singaporean contemporary artist. Lim’s works explore the tension between the personal and the collective, navigating themes of memory, identity, and dislocation. Drawing from a wide range of motifs, including art history, Asian folklore, film, and everyday experiences—Lim constructs psychologically charged scenes that are at once surreal, visceral, enigmatic, and theatrical.

Lim’s fragmented forms are animated by frenetic intensity and bold gestural expression, engaging the threshold between figuration and abstraction. His paintings resist fixed meaning, instead inviting viewers to dwell in ambiguity, and explore open-ended associations. Marked by striking contrasts: chaotic colour, shifting textures, and moments of stillness punctuated by violence - his canvases reflect the layered complexity of contemporary experience.

Lim holds a BFA in Painting, summa cum laude, from the Maryland Institute College of Art, under a full scholarship. He was awarded first place in the 32nd UOB Painting of the Year as an Emerging Artist. His works have been exhibited in Singapore and the United States.
