Composition that includes the use of neon light, reflected in coloured mirrors featuring hues from healing colour palettes, and circular forms to draw the eye in, is designed to effect feelings of calm reflection. Textile elements that spiral and branch in organic forms recall chromosomal material. Healing Tree (2025) employs these elements, with a clear grounding in nature.
This application of neon and healing colour palettes in this way was originally used in artworks that I created in response to natural disasters including flooding events, as a sought a means of conveying healing wishes for communities that had been so badly impacted.
