Meta Enjelita is an Indonesian artist who lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Born in Pontianak, West Borneo, in 1994, she graduated from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta, Faculty of Fine Arts, majoring in Textile Crafts (2018). She works in the fields of textile art, batik, and fashion. In recent years, she has participated in several group exhibitions featuring young Indonesian artists. In 2018, she received the Best Artwork Award at the Matra exhibition organized by Pendhapa Art Space, Yogyakarta.

Enjelita’s work explores the entangled matters of materiality, ecological and social structures, and the memories of places and things. Throughout her creative process, she organically embeds her reflections into fabrics, mapping her journey with needle and thread. She is particularly interested in the natural process of iron corrosion as a textile dye, which opens up endless possibilities. Fascinated by organic elements in the natural environment, she observes how they are never static; their ever-changing realities and flux are only revealed over time as we experience them. This quality of transformation, from imperceptible decay to exuberant growth, inspires her abstractions. Using textiles as the foundation for her constructions, she creates forms that echo organic and inorganic life, cellular mutations, and elements of tactile memory.
