Nature and Heal (Mother) anchor the series of works for ILLUMINATIONS of Women’s Prowess in Art, Science, Technology, and Cultural Infusions. Created at a time when I was separated from my family in Japan due to Australia’s lengthy border closure, the use of kimono textiles in these works is an important reference to the strength and resilience of my mother Reiko Tango, who has provided unwavering support throughout my life.
