In The City With No Seasons, Shen Jiaqi explores the individual's contemplation of life in the city, and the quiet act of being an observer to the perennial changes of our urban environment. Change in a city like ours often happens slowly and quietly through small shifts and forgotten details, and this work speaks of the feeling of being present yet disconnected, to watch the familiar slowly become unfamiliar. The City With No Seasons invites us to pay attention to the passing of time, and to the subtle ways that urban environments reshape itself and the individuals within.
