German artist Jochen Mühlenbrink lives and works in both Germany and the Netherlands. Recognized for his trompe l’oeil techniques, Mühlenbrink takes a philosophical approach to painting leaving his audience questioning what is real. In the years of 2001 to 2007, he studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and graduated as a master student under German artist, Markus Lüpertz. 

 

Mühlenbrink’s works has since been featured in a number of international exhibitions, including Kunstmuseum Solingen, Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, Kunsthalle Osnabrück, Morat-Institut Freiburg, Osthaus Museum Hagen, Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven, Kunsthal Rotterdam, Museum Het Valkhof, Nijmegen and Arti et Amicitiae, Amsterdam.

 

His works can be viewed in various private and public collections in Europe and internationally, namely in Museum X, Beijing, G2 Kunsthalle, Leipzig, Stadtmuseum Oldenburg, Deutsche Bundesbank, NATIONAL-BANK and Collectie DE.GROEN, Arnhem. Following 2022, Mühlenbrink will be exhibiting his first solo shows in Asia and America.  

 

Mülenbrink is represented by ASPN, Leipzig and Gerhard Hofland, Amsterdam.
