New Auction Record set for Hubert Le Gall

Hubert Le Gall (b. 1961, Lyon, France) is an artist-designer who's work is a bold combination of sophistication and playfulness. You probably have encountered some of his works when visiting the gallery. No one is left indifferent after seeing his incredible creations. I am a fond collector of Hubert Le Gall and I'm happy to share a few updates about the artist! Like always you can find more by visiting Hubert Le Gall's artist page here.

A few weeks ago in Paris, a large number of Hubert Le Gall's creations were auctioned by Sotheby's. It was a world breaking record auction for the artist with some of the works going for x3 and x4 the normal retail price.

The collection focused on the artworks collected by an American collector who had purchased a beautiful property in the heart of Normandy: the Manoir of Saint-Calais. The owner, a friend and patron of French artist-designer Hubert Le Gall, spent seven years bringing the domain back to its former glory. The property housed one of the most important collections of Le Gall’s singular and playful creations, which took their place alongside pieces of antique furniture, and works by David Hockney, Camille Pissarro and Allan Ramsay.
