Cuturi Gallery Paris · 28 May – 26 SEPTEMBER 2026
Villa Noël, Domaine de Bournissac, Noves · 12 June – 1 August 2026 (fri - sun, by appointment only)
From May 28, 2026, Cuturi Gallery Paris will present its first monographic exhibition dedicated to the artist and designer Hubert Le Gall. Conceived in collaboration with curator Bruno Gaudichon, the exhibition unfolds through a scenography inspired by the poetic and symbolic world of the forest.
Titled "Arbres de la Forêt, Vous Connaissez Notre Âme" (Trees of The Forest, You Know Our Soul) in reference to Victor Hugo’s poem Aux arbres (Les Contemplations, 1856), the exhibition proposes an expanded reading of the text. Here, the notion of the soul extends beyond the human condition, opening onto a broader understanding of the living world—one that embraces animal and natural realms alike.
Through this lens, Hubert Le Gall explores a form of silent presence that inhabits landscapes, as if nature itself were to emerge as both subject and witness, carrying within it a sensitive and enduring memory. Each work is embedded within a distinct geography, temporality, and imaginary space, where animal figures take on a central role, acting as mediators between worlds—between the visible and the invisible, the human and the non-human.
This first monographic exhibition at Cuturi Gallery Paris affirms the singularity of Hubert Le Gall’s practice. Each piece, while fully functional, contributes to a broader narrative, shaping a hybrid territory at the intersection of design and sculpture. The artist develops a unique language in which the object exists simultaneously as form, function, and fiction.
Resisting any purely decorative reading, the exhibition foregrounds the narrative depth of the work, alongside the richness of its craftsmanship and poetic imagination. Through this interplay of forms, stories, and references, the title itself becomes a key to interpretation: it no longer points solely to human interiority, but suggests a shared, expanded soul—one that circulates between humans, animals, and the natural world.
From June 12 to August 1, 2026, the exhibition will extend to Villa Noël, at the heart of the Domaine de Bournissac in Noves (Bouches-du-Rhône). The opening, accompanied by a special program, will take place on June 13 and 14.
Set around this remarkable building designed by architect Armand Pellier, Cuturi Gallery will present, for the first time outdoors, a group of sculptures by Hubert Le Gall, in dialogue with the surrounding landscape of the Alpilles. In this setting, conceived in close relationship with its environment, the works resonate in a unique way, at the intersection of art, design, and architecture.
Villa Noël will be open Friday - Sunday by appointment only. Please contact paris@cuturigallery.com to book an appointment.
